Practical Charter
Summary and guidelines: the psychoanalysis session as a free-speech space.
Support and Follow-up Procedures
Consultations take place in the confidential setting of the practice in Montpellier (Écusson) or in the form of online follow-up, depending on the needs and circumstances.
Individual consultations for adults and adolescents: interviews and analytical follow-up during 50-minute sessions.
In order to allow everyone to express themselves in the language of their emotions and intimacy, the sessions can be conducted in French, Spanish or English.
A Time to Listen
I invite you to set aside the distractions that divert you from the most important commitment: working on yourself. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, this classic, peaceful space with high ceilings offers the tranquillity needed to slow down. It is a place conducive to letting your thoughts flow freely, where speech becomes a key tool for journeying towards self-knowledge.
In this peaceful setting, each session is designed as a break from everyday life. It is an opportunity to grant yourself a pause, a moment of lasting interaction to freely address whatever comes to mind – whether it troubles or causes anxiety – in order to release inner tensions and restore meaning to your journey.
The Uniqueness of Psychoanalysis: Beyond the Symptom
Unlike psychiatry, which tends to establish a diagnosis and treat the disorder with medication, or certain branches of psychology focused on rapid behavioural re-education, psychoanalysis in private practice offers an alternative approach to mental health. Whilst medicine usually seeks to suppress the symptom, psychoanalysis — which is by no means another form of psychotherapy — pays attention to it in order to understand its origin. Its approach is not geared towards normalising the individual, but towards liberating their own truth.
To embrace the fundamental sufferings of existence: the underlying currents of depression, chronic anxieties, painful griefs that never end, past traumas or the sense of repetition in romantic and professional life, and to reawaken one’s own desire: that is the ultimate goal of analysis. In Montpellier, this work is aimed at anyone who refuses to reduce their distress to a mere clinical diagnosis and prefers to give free rein to their inner conflicts through the power of words and the unconscious.
